Maybe that’s the reason – combined with enormous sacrifice and commitment – that La Locanda del Castello has rightfully discovered its own identity, and the Gambero Rosso Association has acknowledged this by including it in its guidebook. Located in Piazza Garibaldi inside the walls of the old castle of Passignano, the Locanda boasts warm hues and a flower garden that, on summer evenings, makes customers feel right at home, with a friendly and professional touch. This makes La Locanda del Castello the perfect ambience for tasting exquisite dishes, accompanied by an excellent choice of wines.

Our suggestions on the tasting menu – offering either meat or fish, served with the perfect wines – vary from week to week. Our menu changes monthly, offering you the opportunity to taste typical local recipes we have customized using products from our fertile territory. Expert hands prepare our pasta dishes as well as our desserts. Our expertise is at your beck and call to satisfy your every need. In essence, La Locanda del Castello is a place with a wealth of flavors and aromas, a place marked by life stories, great and small.

It is a place where dreams have come true through effort and determination, but above all with great professionalism acquired over the years at Italy’s finest restaurants.

These are the dreams that, as the proprietor of La Locanda del Castello, I have always cherished.

Everything started twenty years ago at the Ariston in Viareggio, where I first began to discover this fascinating world, starting out in a refined and sophisticated ambience. This was the key that opened doors for me and helped me improve constantly.

When I finished my studies in hotellerie, I went to Cortina d’Ampezzo, where I worked at the Miramonti for two years, continuing to learn the finest skills, thanks also to the important teachers who believed in me and taught me secrets that no classroom can convey. I changed again, going to Gualtiero Marchesi in Milan, and then… onward and upward to Cipriani in Venice, where I perfected both technique and presentation. Elegance and sophistication were part of the very air you breathed at these magical places every day. They are fascinating places that have given me life-long emotions.

All this is part of me, part of my life, and I try to convey my enthusiasm to my customers, always striving to offer them the best of everything. And now this is true more than ever when I take my catering skills to Marco at Villa San Crispolto, where we have organized banquets for the past two years. It’s the perfect partnership: Marco and his marvelous Villa San Crispolto welcome guests, offering the very best, set in a charming historical residence.
