Service for the wedding day
Catering Renata
No true Italian wedding would be complete without traditional Italian cooking at its heart.
In Italy our food is very much a family affair, so where better to enjoy some incredible Italian cooking than at a festival of family and love such as a wedding?
With over 15 years’ experience in arranging weddings in Italy, we know that the best food needs the best ingredients, all prepared by a chef with passion. We pride ourselves on arranging the best possible catering for your special day, and with Renata you’ll be sure to love the food.
We love working with Renata because she truly symbolises everything about Tuscan cuisine. Her cooking style is reminiscent of the finest home-cooked Italian food, all made with premium ingredients with no corners cut to deliver robust flavour and an experience to remember.
Renata offers local cheeses and charcuterie, fresh homemade pasta, top-quality local meat, tasty vegetable side dishes, hearty legumes and traditional desserts, all served with excellent local wines. Few things are as iconically Italian as bread with olive oil, and Renata loves to serve the two together.
Of her own cooking, Renata says, “Tuscany boasts an ancient and masterly cuisine prepared with delicious ingredients. It is never overly elaborate; the key aspect of our cuisine is undoubtedly its simplicity. Made with well-balanced quantities, it is never dictated by haste but by the utmost attention in choosing and blending the ingredients.”
Great ingredients, locally sourced, crafted together with attention to detail and refined with passion. Renata in a nutshell.
Menu San Lorenzo
Menu San Lorenzo presents all the delicious flavours of a classic Italian wedding feast in a slimmed down 3-course format.
Drawing on years of experience catering for British weddings in Italy, Menu San Lorenzo has been designed to offer classic Italian flavours in the form of a more traditional British / Irish wedding menu.

Vegetarians will be served an alternative to every non-vegetarian dish served to the other guests, thus enjoying the same number of courses as everyone else.
As far as relatively common allergies are concerned (e.g. wheat allergy, celiac disease, allergic to dairy products, nuts allergy), we’re keen to ensure that guests don’t miss out so our caterers will be ready to prepare all the selected dishes, avoiding any problematic ingredients. This means that all your guests, including allergy sufferers, will enjoy the same number of courses.

Menu Antica Toscana
A celebration of classic Italian flavours, this lavish menu is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
Menu Antica Toscana brings together an array of traditional Italian wedding dishes, making it the perfect choice if you’re keen to realise an unmistakably Italian wedding experience. It’s also a guaranteed crowd pleaser, brimming with irresistible flavours and quality local ingredients.
The menu includes 6 courses plus the wedding cake, as follows:
- an aperitif served around the pool
- a buffet of appetisers
- 2 first courses per person
- 2 main courses with side dishes per person
- the wedding cake
- fruits and coffee or tea
The menu also includes all costs connected to renting the tables, chairs, tablecloths, napkins, glassware etc.
When the menu indicates “choice of two”, it means that each guest will be served both the selected dishes, i.e. two pasta dishes, two main courses etc.
This is a tradition at Italian weddings and, while it might initially seem extravagant, we’ve found that this type of menu always goes down well with guests!
Therefore, a menu listing appetisers, first courses, main courses with side dishes and dessert is, in effect, a six course meal. We think it’s a suitably lavish touch on a day that’s all about extravagant celebration.
In fact, we’d even suggest keeping this little detail from your guests until the very last minute – in our experience it’s a surprise that tends to go down very well indeed!
Sample Reception
Over many years and hundreds of weddings we’ve refined the art of the wedding reception.
It’s impossible to understate the importance of a reception – after all, this is your chance to transform your wedding day into a truly unforgettable celebration. We take great pride in helping couples realise a magnificent reception that more than lives up to everyone’s expectations and our wedding planning expertise means your reception couldn’t be in safer hands.
While we’re more than happy to tailor the event to your special requirements, a typical wedding reception at Villa San Crispolto or Villa Baroncino will proceed as follows.
Aperitifs will be served around the pool, with a view of the Lake Trasimeno on the east and west sides. The group will then move towards the villa where, on the east terrace with a view of the lake, guests will be seated at tables.
A string quartet, band or, if desired, music selected from CDs will accompany the dinner, with individual servings of appetisers, first course, second course and vegetables. Lastly, the wedding cake will be served.
While the bride and groom have their pictures taken, the waiters will lay out the dessert, also serving the wedding cake.
After dessert coffee will be served.
The entire reception is created to reflect traditional characteristics that are in keeping with the Italian setting. Evocative aspects of traditional Tuscan and Umbrian culture will feature throughout, including delicious local cuisine, decorations and table settings.
